David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has appealed to a member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, to respect the decision of Osun State voters amid the ongoing collation of results from the governorship election held on August 15.
In a post shared on his X account on Saturday, the music star, who is related to Governor Ademola Adeleke, alleged that efforts were being made to influence the electoral process and called for the wishes of the electorate to be honoured.
Davido specifically urged Faleke not to interfere with the work of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, insisting that the outcome of the election should reflect the mandate given by the people.
According to him, “James Faleke, stop putting pressure on INEC to change Osun election result. Respect the wishes of Osun people. We don’t want Oyetola and AMBO.”
The Afro beat sensation’s statement comes as results from various local government areas continue to be collated, with political stakeholders closely monitoring developments across the state.
The Osun governorship election has attracted nationwide attention, with many Nigerians’ describing it as a significant test of Nigeria’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
