Review E-Voting Providers
The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has scheduled a meeting with all qualified candidates participating in the 2026 NBA National Elections.
The notice, dated May 20, 2026, was signed by Ibrahim Aliyu Nassarawa, Esq., Secretary of the ECNBA 2026, and addressed to all qualified candidates in the forthcoming national elections.
However, unlike previous ECNBA notices which were usually published on the ECNBA website or its dedicated election platform, this notice was published on the NBA website, a development that has drawn attention among members monitoring the election process.
According to the notice, the meeting will hold on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. prompt, at the ECNBA Secretariat, NBA House, 24 Oro Ago Street, Garki, Abuja.
The committee said the meeting is intended to give qualified candidates an opportunity to raise issues requiring clarification in order to advance preparations for the successful conduct of a transparent and credible 2026 NBA National Elections.
The notice further stated that candidates will also participate in a meeting between the ECNBA and shortlisted prospective Electronic Service Providers, who have been separately invited for further evaluation and assessment.
According to the committee, the evaluation is necessary to enable the ECNBA determine which service provider may be engaged for the electronic voting process in the elections.
The ECNBA urged each qualified candidate to attend personally or through one duly authorised representative.
It also warned that unauthorised persons would not be allowed to participate in the meetings.
The meeting comes amid growing interest in the conduct of the 2026 NBA National Elections, particularly around issues of transparency, electronic voting arrangements, candidate engagement and the role of technology service providers in the electoral process.
