Four student leaders have been remanded by an Ogun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, over alleged assault and property destruction.

They are Hezakiah Adelola, General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State chapter; Kamil Iseoluwa, Ibikunle Idris and Folorusho Jacob Olugbenga.

The students were arraigned on a seven-count charge involving alleged conspiracy, assault, harassment, and destruction of property.

The prosecution alleged the defendants harassed and assaulted Kehinde Tejuosho and Lekan Olubodun on different occasions, and destroyed property worth millions of naira.

The court said the four defendants faced seven joint charges, including assault, property destruction, and conspiracy.

However, all the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, M. K. Araba, in his ruling, granted each of the defendants bail to the sum of N1 million.
