The Senior Special Assistant to His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife on South-East Matters, Ani Uzoma (popularly known as Soul2Soul), has lauded the Federal High Court for acquitting and discharging a senior police officer, Abba Kyari, who was charged to court for alleged drug peddling.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had on Thursday discharged and acquitted Kyari and nine others.
In his ruling on the matter, Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court Abuja averred that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency was unable to prove their allegations of drug related crimes against the suspended police officer.
Reacting to the judgement in a statement in Abakaliki on Monday, Ani described it as a welcome development and urged the police officer to put the ugly experiences behind and continue to work for the progress of the nation.
