An ex-president of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressives Union (IEDPU) and former Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Saka Yusuf is dead.He died on Monday’s night at the age of 85 and has been buried at his GRA, Ilorin residence in accordance with Islamic rites.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Isiaka Gold, who represented Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ali Ahmad led the dignitaries to Yusuf’s burial.
Chief Judge of the state, Justice Sulaiman Kawu, the state Grand Kadi, Justice Ola AbdulKadir, a former Grand Kadi, Justice AbdulMutalib Ambali, Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Prof AbdulRasheed Na’ Allah, also attended the burial ceremony.Others are the IEDPU president, Ambassador Sheikh AbdulAzeez, his predecessor, AbdulHamid Adi and the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ishola Balogun-Fulani.
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Salihu, offered the prayers for the deceased and was supported by other clerics from the Ilorin Emirate.Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, expressed shock over the death of Justice Yusuf.
National Secretary of the Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development (SAFPAD), Abdulazeez Arowona, issued the statement on behalf of the Emir, among other tributes from prominent indigenes of the state.
