Police in Ogun State have arrested a cleric, Alfa Funmilayo Fatai, over the alleged assault of an eight-year-old girl in the Kara area of Ibafo.
The Guardian learnt that the 42-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene of the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that an investigation had commenced to establish the full circumstances.
He added that the victim had been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for medical examination and treatment.
