The legal community and alumni of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) have been plunged into mourning following the death of Chief Barrister Ike Onwuchuluba, President of the UNEC Law Class of 1989.
Chief Onwuchuluba, a distinguished son of Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, was reported dead on Monday. The sad news was announced by his townsman, Ingram Osigwe, sparking an outpouring of grief across legal, business, and alumni circles.
Popularly known by his chieftaincy title, Nnabuenyi Akokwa, Chief Ike Onwuchuluba was a highly successful international lawyer and businessman whose professional influence extended beyond Nigeria’s shores. In August 2024, he was elected President of the UNEC Law Class of 1989, a role he assumed with characteristic dedication and vision, working to strengthen unity and engagement among his classmates.
