The father of Umar Auwalu, the principal suspect in the killings of a housewife and her six children, Mallam Auwalu has urged the government to speedily try his son and ensure he is sentenced to death.
He said in a local Radio in Kano, Monday, that, “the likes of Umar my Son should not be allowed in the society. They should be eliminated to allow for a sane environment”.
Mallam who spoke in hausa hints that, “I’m suspecting that the same Umar is behind the killings of the Darayi Hausa wif’se junior sister sometimes last month”.
He noted that, “I’m quite sure that Umar has been committing several crimes which we are not aware of, but now that he has been arrested, he should be punished accordingly.
“I don’t want the government or the security agency to delay his trial because if he is allowed to stay in prison one day, some politicians will come and forgive him and that will not go well with our society.”
