The Council of Legal Education, Nigerian Law School, has issued a corrigendum correcting the Body of Benchers Call to Bar fee payable by Call to Bar candidates.

In a notice dated June 1, 2026, the Council clarified that the correct fee is ₦40,000, not the ₦50,000 earlier announced. It explained that candidates who had already paid the higher amount will be refunded the ₦10,000 difference after reconciliation is completed following the Call to Bar ceremony.

“The Body of Benchers Call to the Bar fee is ₦40,000 and not ₦50,000 as earlier published,” the notice stated, adding that “the Body of Benchers will refund the difference in the amount paid after carrying out the necessary reconciliation process following the Call to the Bar ceremony.”

The Council apologised for the error and any inconvenience caused to candidates, stating that it “regrets any inconvenience this error may have caused to the Call Candidates.”

The corrigendum was signed by Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration. It follows an earlier announcement that had listed the fee at ₦50,000 as part of the Call to Bar process for successful candidates.

With the correction, the approved mandatory payments for candidates are expected to be adjusted to reflect the revised ₦40,000 fee.
