The Council of Legal Education has issued a notice to students of the Nigerian Law School whose results were withheld in the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations, outlining schedules for remedial academic activities.
In the notice released by the management of the Nigerian Law School, affected students from the 2024/2025 academic session were informed that their results were withheld due to absence or failure in Portfolio Assessment or deficiencies in the mandatory dinner terms.
To address these deficiencies, the Council scheduled a make-up externship programme and portfolio defence. The court externship is set to run from April 27 to May 15, 2026, followed by law office externship from May 18 to June 5, 2026. The portfolio defence is slated for June 9, 2026.
Students with outstanding dinner requirements are also expected to attend a make-up session scheduled between May 12 and May 14, 2026.
The Council directed all affected students to submit their applications on or before April 27, 2026, via the designated email address. Applicants are required to include their names, Law School application numbers, preferred externship locations, and chosen campuses for both portfolio defence and make-up dinner.
Additionally, candidates are to attach relevant documents including passport photographs, a copy of their result printout, school identity card, and evidence of payment of ₦20,000 for dinner defaulters.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS WITH WITHHELD RESULTS – DECEMBER 2025 BAR FINAL EXAMINATIONS
The Management of the Nigerian Law School wishes to inform all students of the 2024/2025 Academic Session whose results in the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations were withheld due to absence/failure in the Portfolio Assessment or deficiencies in the Dinner terms that:
Make-up Externship Programme and Portfolio Defense has been scheduled as follows:
• Externship (Court): April 27 – May 15, 2026
• Externship (Law Office): May 18 – June 5, 2026
• Portfolio Defense: June 9, 2026
Students with deficiencies in the Dinner are notified of the next dinner dates as follows:
• Dinner: May 12 – 14, 2026
MODE OF APPLICATION:
All concerned are required to submit an application on or before April 27, 2026 to this email: externshipdefaulters@nigerianlawschool.edu.ng. The application must contain their Names, Law School Application number, the location for the externship, campus of choice for the defense and the campus for the make-up dinner.
The following requirements must be attached with the application:
• Passport photographs
• Copy of the result printout
• Copy School Identity Card
• RRR Receipt of N20, 000 for Dinner defaulters.
