A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Welfare Committee, Chief Emeka Ozoani, has once again demonstrated exceptional commitment to the welfare of legal practitioners with a quiet but impactful intervention.

The learned silk recently gifted a motorized wheelchair to a physically challenged colleague at the Nigerian Bar Association Ikeja Branch, Idris Shonuga Chigozie, Principal Counsel of Gozie Idris Nwosu Attorneys.

According to sources within the branch, the beneficiary had been attending Bar activities using a manual wheelchair and depended largely on assistance for mobility. Chief Ozoani, upon observing her situation, took it upon himself to procure a motorized, automatic wheelchair to improve her independence and ease of movement.

In keeping with his well-known disposition, the gesture was carried out without publicity and formally handed over through the branch leadership.

Members of the Bar have described the intervention as both compassionate and transformative, noting that it will significantly enhance the colleague’s participation in professional engagements.

Chief Ozoani’s action is consistent with his longstanding record of supporting lawyers across the country. Even after serving as Chairman of the NBA National Welfare Committee, he has continued to extend assistance to colleagues in need across various regions.

Legal practitioners have since commended the gesture, describing it as a shining example of humane leadership and urging other senior members of the profession to emulate such practical contributions toward improving the welfare of colleagues.
