Appoints Ex-CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen as Keynote Speaker.
The Nyanya-Karu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has announced plans for its 2026 Annual Law Week, with activities scheduled to hold from April 17 to April 22, 2026.
Themed “The Democratic Equation,” the Law Week is expected to bring together legal practitioners, jurists, and stakeholders to examine critical issues surrounding democracy, governance, and the rule of law in Nigeria. The event will take place at CGM ‘Event centre” adjacent Federal Road Safety Office Karu, after Blooming Chicken Restaurant, Karu Site Abuja.
According to the Law Week Planning Committee, the event will feature a keynote address by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Samuel Onnoghen, whose participation is anticipated to add depth and perspective to discussions at the event.
The Chairman of the Committee, Henry T. Ebu Esq., noted that the programme has been carefully designed to foster meaningful dialogue and provide practical insights into contemporary legal and democratic challenges.
He added that the Law Week would include a series of activities and plenary sessions aimed at enriching professional knowledge and promoting engagement among members of the Bar.
The Branch Chairman, Alexander Ebi Edim, also expressed optimism that the event would strengthen unity within the branch and encouraged members of the Bar and the general public to participate actively, describing the Law Week as an important platform for reflection, learning, and collaboration.
The event will run as follows:
Day 1. 17th April, 2026 Jumaar’t Prayer. Karu Central Mosque.
Day 2. 18th April, 2026 Novelty football Match Nyanya-Karu gentlemen in Skirt vs Elders of the branch.

Day 3. 19th April, 2026 Thanksgiving service. Mountain of Fire & Miracle Ministrries. Jikoyi, Abuja
Day 4. 20th April, 2026. Opening Ceremony/Keynote address by His Lordship Hon. Justice Walter S. Onnoghen/Session.
Day 5. 21st April, 2026 Plenary session.
Day 6. 25th April, 2026 Dinner/Award(s) Night.
