Lawyers have advised law students at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to work hard, maintain honesty in their dealings with clients, emulate good lawyers and judges and remain prayerful.
They also advised them to aspire to gain experience by working under seasoned lawyers.
The advice was given at the first edition of the Finals of the Incomparable Mock Trial, a moot court trial sponsored by Mike Igbokwe (SAN).
It was organised by the Mooting Society, UNILAG, on behalf of the office of the Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, Prof Abiola Sanni (SAN), and in partnership with the Law Students’ Society UNILAG.
Notable guests in attendance include the Hon Justice CJ Aneke; Mr Bode Olanipekun (SAN), and Mr Victor Opara, among others.
The Mock trial displayed a practical efficiency, competence and credibility, as well as creating a platform for UNILAG law students to learn recent jurisdictions in Nigerian Law.
The edition is a simulation of trial proceedings that occur in a courtroom, to get the law students of UNILAG acquainted with the process of presenting evidence, examining witnesses and making arguments.
