/* That's all, stop editing! */ define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true); Lagos agency seeks information on alleged sexual assault survivor after viral video – Ask Legal Palace

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has appealed for information that could help it reach a woman identified simply as Mirabel, following a viral video in which she alleged that she was sexually assaulted.

Mirabel’s post circulated widely on Monday after she shared on TikTok that she was sexually assaulted on Sunday, February 15, 2026, by a man who later allegedly sent her a message boasting about the act.

In the video, she said she woke up with a hangover, explaining that she drinks before going to bed due to insomnia. She stated that she went to sleep around 6:00 a.m. and heard knocks on her door at about 9:00 a.m., assuming it was her neighbour. She alleged that she was suddenly pushed, hit her head on a refrigerator and lost consciousness.

According to her account, she later regained consciousness to find a piece of cloth in her mouth and said she was mumbling and crying for help, believing someone might hear her.

She claimed that her neighbours had gone to church at the time.

She added that after about 20 minutes, she became fully conscious and discovered she was bleeding, initially thinking she was on her menstrual flow.

A screenshot of a message she shared, allegedly sent by a person identified as Priston with the handle @priston186, showed the sender boasting that nothing would happen to him because his father is wealthy.

Reacting to the development, the DSVA said it had commenced efforts to reach the survivor and provide support.

In a statement, the agency said: “We want to state clearly that we have seen the reports and we are actively making efforts to reach the survivor to offer immediate support and appropriate intervention and ascertain the location. Our team has initiated contact through available channels and will continue efforts to establish communication.

“If anyone has credible information that can assist us in reaching her directly and safely, please contact the Agency by sending us a DM on any of our official social media channels.

“The Lagos State Government maintains a zero tolerance stance against all forms of Domestic and Sexual Violence. Sexual Assault is a crime, and every survivor deserves protection, care, support and justice.

“We encourage survivors to speak up and assure the public that reports are treated with utmost confidentiality and urgency.”
