A HIGH Court in the Abuja Judicial Division has issued an interim injunction restraining the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) from holding its planned Certification Convocation and Policy Dialogue, earlier slated for Thursday, January 29, in Abuja. In a motion ex parte brought before the court on January 27 and marked FHC/ABJ/CS/154/2026, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN), is challenging the planned Public Procurement Certification Programme, claiming that it’s a violation of its mandate and overlap of function by BPP. It named the Bureau and the Attorney General of the Federation as defendants.

The court relied on the 21-page affidavit in support of the motion, along with Affidavit of Urgency, both deposed to by Dr. Abdul Mamman, the North Central Coordinator for the Institute.
Counsel to the plaintiff, O. U. Salifu Esq., argued the application, urging the court to grant the relief sought.
