I’ll make you scapegoat if you block govt gates – Wike warns FCTA workersMinister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has threatened any worker of the FCT Administration who attempts to block the gate of the office premises.

Wike vowed to ensure that those who disobey will face the wrath of the law from tomorrow.

Addressing the media in his office on Tuesday, Wike said he would apply the big stick on workers who fail to come to work.

He said, “When man disobeys the law, are there no consequences for disobeying the law? Must we allow people flagrantly disobey the law?

“I’m giving them this window because I’m still in the office today, from tomorrow if you don’t come to work, we are going to apply the big stick.

“And from tomorrow if we see anybody who says he wants to block the gate, we will make you a scapegoat. The law must take its place.”

This comes as the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday granted an interlocutory injunction filed by Wike and the FCT Administration, compelling workers under the Joint Union Action Committee to suspend their ongoing strike.

The irate workers who gathered on Tuesday, however, said they were no more on strike, stressing that they would just stay home.

Staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, insisted on not resuming despite a court order mandating them to suspend the industrial action.
