The Nigerian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA Nigeria) has announced the commencement of registration for its highly anticipated 9th Annual Conference scheduled to take place in Abuja from April 13-15, 2026. Early bird registration is set to close on January 31, 2026.
Themed Mitigating Economic and Financial Crime Risks in a Shifting Global Order: The Role of International Law, the conference aims to provide a platform for international legal experts, leaders in government, business, academia and private practice to exchange knowledge, experience and learn from each other on how to strengthen the implementation and application of international law to address illicit financial flows, money laundering and other corruption related economic and financial crimes, so as to advance sustainable development across Africa.
In a statement from the organizers, the conference is expected to foster forward looking solutions and international cooperation for addressing environmental and economic crimes in a manner that fosters sustainable development. The conference will feature keynote lectures, workshops, paper presentations, student debates and the President’s Dinner and Award Night.
