One of the fleeing prisoners from the White House Prison yard in Edo State during the #EndSARS protest, Obehi Ehis Frank Ogbeh, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State.

His arrest on Tuesday came on the heels of information received by policemen at the Agbado Divisional headquarters that a middle-aged man was seen loitering around Angulis area of Agbado with a suspicious look.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, he said based on the information, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, detailed his detectives to the area where the man was apprehended.

“He was properly interrogated and confessed to the detectives that he was an inmate of the White House prison in Edo and that he was set free by hoodlums who attacked the prison yard during the #EndSARS protest. He further confessed that he relocated to the Agbado area to avoid re-arrest,” he said.

Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward A. Ajogun, had directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further profiling.

MEANWHILE, a pastor and three others kidnapped in Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have been released, the state PPRO, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya, disclosed yesterday.

Onowakpoyeya, however, did not say whether any ransom was paid to the hoodlums before they regained their freedom four days after being in captivity.

“They have been released. That is all I can tell you. Whether ransom was paid or not, I don’t know.”

The abductors suspected to be herders had earlier demanded an N100 million ransom. It was learned that the victims were beaten mercilessly before regaining their freedom.
