The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Temitope Fatoba, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept. 3, at about 1:00 am. at Altima Area, Osogbo.
Fatoba said that the defendant unlawfully wore a Nigerian Army uniform with intent to commit crime and was later apprehended with a mock gun in his possession to rob innocent citizens.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 27 (1)(a)(1) of the Firearm Act, Cap. F28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Sections 109, 428(d) and 509 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence preferred against him.
The Defence Counsel, Mrs Olufunmi Olorunfemi, prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr A. A. Adeyeba, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with one surety in like sum.
Adeyeba said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, with evidence of tax payments, passport-sized photographs and an affidavit of means.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Dec. 10, for hearing.
