Incumbent Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has won the Kaduna State governor’s polling Unit Nasir El-Rufai’s in the State.
El-Rufai said the president polled 369 votes to defeat his major challenger the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar who had 44 votes.
“PMB HAS WON MY POLLING UNIT: The result of the two voting points at my polling unit at Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna is an overwhelming WIN for PMB: APC – 369, PDP – 044,” El Rufai tweeted on Saturday.
El-Rufai is a keen supporter of President Buhari and was heavily criticised for his pre-election statement that threatened death on the international bodies that try to intervene in the elections. He said they will leave in body bags.
The Kaduna State governor stayed on the queue for about four hours before he was able to vote at his polling unit.
