ILAJE
– the crisis between the monarch of Mahin Kingdom in the Ilaje Local Government
Area of Ondo State, Oba Lawrence Omowole, and the kingmakers of the kingdom has
been reportedly resolved as the kingmakers have reversed the deposition of the
traditional ruler.
Oba
Omowole was reportedly deposed by the kingmakers for allegedly removing Oba
Beniah Idiogbe as the Alaboto of Aboto in the Mahin Kingdom in February and
installing one Oyetayo Ofoaye, who was described as a non-indigene.
The
decision to reverse the deposition order was contained in a statement issued by
one of the kingmakers, High Chief Godwin Balogun, on behalf of all the
kingmakers on Monday, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent
in Akure.
The
statement said, “The disagreement between the Amapetu of Mahin, Oba Lawrence
Omowole, and the Mahin kingmakers as reported earlier in the year, has since
been amicably resolved at a meeting of the Mahin Council of Traditional Rulers
and Chiefs at the palace of the Odede Igbo-Egunrin.”
