Orders Unaffected Court Judicial Staff To Close Work At 3:00PM
The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba Bello has directed staff of some Courts to stay at home till further notice, following the tension as a result of the violence that has marred the #EndSARS protests which equally resulted in burning down public buildings, including the Lagos State High Court.
This is contained in an internal memo with reference number: LASJ/312455/VOL.I/21 issued by Director Admin & Human Resources, Sanusi Kamal Adewale which was made available to ASKLEGALPALACE.
“In view of the recent Arson perpetuated on our Court Houses in Lagos, Igbosere, Lagos, the Hon. Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem O. Alogba has directed the immediate cordon of the Court Houses for safety reasons”.
In addition, affected staff have been directed to stay at home with effect from Monday, 26th October 2020.
“Further, officers of the affected Court House are advised to stay away from office throughout this week with effect from Monday, 26th October 2020; while the attention of any of the officers may be required by the Hon. Judges or their Head of Units for official assignments in the subsequent weeks.”
However, other staff across the State have also been directed to close work at 3PM.
“It is also to be noted that other members of staff across the State are temporarily to close by 3 PM in view of the Statewide curfew imposed by the State Government and on the fact that staff buses are momentarily out of roads”, it was added.
“The Management seize this medium to appreciate the efforts of all members of staff during these trying periods of the State”, the statement concluded.
