The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, inaugurated seven new Special Advisers, three of whom were re-appointed.

The governor, during the swearing-in of the new members of the State Executive Council at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja, charged them to exhibit commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership.

Among those inugurated were Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Aderemi Adebowale; Special Adviser E-GIS and Planning Matters, Dr Olajide Babatunde; and the Special Adviser on Housing, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka.

Others were Special Adviser, Commerce and Industries, Abiola Olowu; Special Adviser, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Robert Bolaji; Special Adviser on Transportation, Sola Giwa, and Special Adviser on Tourism Arts and Culture, Femi Martins.

Sanwo-Olu said, “It is my pleasure to be here today for the swearing-in of new Special Advisers to replace those who voluntarily left the State Executive Council in recent months to pursue their political ambitions.

“I must point out that three of the seven persons being sworn in today are returning members, having been privileged to be re-appointed. The remaining four are newcomers to the state executive council.

“Let me remind you all that this appointment must not be seen as an opportunity for self-service. While discharging the responsibility that will be assigned to you, you must imbibe our culture of transparency, accountability, fairness and value for money.”

Benson-Awoyinka, in her acceptance speech on behalf of the new appointees, appreciated Sanwo-Olu for his faith in the appointees’ ability, pledging to work with him to deliver the Lagos of citizens’ dream.
