An Osogbo Magistrate’s Court in Osun State has ordered the remand of a 33-year-old security man, Wasiu Ogundipe for allegedly assaulting a guest at the hotel where he worked.
Ogundipe was said to have attacked one Olatunji Quadri who had visited Aloha hotel located at Mallam Tope area in Osogbo to catch fun on March 29, 2021.
The prosecutor, Inspector Temitope Fatoba told the court that the defendant conspired with others now at large to assault Quadri by hitting him with stick and cutlass on the head.
The police said the victim sustained injury.
The offence committed is said to be contrary to and punishable under Sections 365, 516 of Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol 11 Law of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the two count charge leveled against him.
Counsel to the defendant, S.O Abiona urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal term.
But the Magistrate, A .A Adeyeba remanded the accused person at Ilesa Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned till April 7, 2021 for ruling on formal bail application.
