CLASFON sues for synergy among Gombe lawyers

A group of Christian lawyers under the aegis of the Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria has sued for synergy within its members in Gombe State.

CLASFON noted that together, a lot would be achieved for the progress of members, state, and Nigeria in general.

Speaking on Sunday, during a dinner with the theme: ‘How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity’, CLASFON Chairperson, Elizabeth Okotie, urged members to strive to see themselves as one, adding that until unity is achieved, not much would be attained.

According to Okotie, to obtain the blessings of God, there must be unity of purpose stressing that in the court everyone tries to work based on the dictate of their brief.

She said, “In Christ, He has removed that division, we are one. When the people came as one in the bible even God respected that unity.

“All of us here this evening, if we move in the spirit of this dinner we are going to speak in one voice, we will be able to work together, no obstacle when spiritual or physical that will be able to confront us. Let’s not forget that spirit of unity God commands His blessings.”

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Justice Haruna Kereng, noted that the government does not consist of only the persons in the executive, adding that it resolves across other arms of government.

Kereng urged members to show worthy examples to others, adding that as lawyers it is expected for them to show solidarity to one another

“When you talk of Government our people normally focus their mind on the executive alone but as you all know government evolves around three arms.

“Any where you find yourself whether as a judge, private legal practitioner, lawyer in the Ministry, our aim is to promote justice. Justice is from God and we are the representatives of God on earth. It is expected of us to exhibit Christ,” Kereng said.
