The Ogun State Government has assured residents of the state that any interaction or engagement on the proposed red line light rail project between it and Lagos State, in partnership with the Nigerian Railway Corporation and other stakeholders, will be driven only by its Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Gbenga Dairo, in a statement on Monday, said the project was a result of collaboration between both states for social and economic integration among the citizens and governments of both states.
“The state government has assured all people and residents of the state that any interaction or engagement on the joint Lagos-Ogun activities, including the red line project, will be driven and championed only by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state, and will protect and respect their rights and opinions,” the commissioner stated.
Dairo noted that the project and other collaborative efforts were part of the fallout of the Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission, which was inaugurated by the governors of both states earlier in the year.
