Kogi: Gov. Bello swears in three high court judges

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, on Tuesday, administered the oath of office on three newly-appointed high court judges in the state.

Two of the new judges, Hon. Justice Abubakar Suleiman Ibrahim and Hon Justice Sulayman Abdullahi, were until their appointment, the Chief Registrar of the High Court and the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission of the state respectively.

The third, Hon. Justice Aminu Ali Eri, was a Magistrate with the FCT High Court of Justice.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, expressed confidence in the new judges while noting that their proven track record of competency will guide them in their new calling.

Following the development, Hon. Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Richard Olorunju Olorunfemi, approved the appointment of Barr. Clement Kejere as the Chief Registrar of the High Court and Barr. Joseph Sunday Ajesola as the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission of the state.

Both appointments take immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the newly-appointed judges are to be presented to the branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Kogi State tomorrow, 6th October 2021, at the headquarters of the Kogi State judiciary.
