Kano Seals Four Illegal Private Clinics

The Kano State Government has shut an illegal private health facility, Kabir Global Clinic, at Rimi village, in the Sumaila Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency, Dr Usman Aliyu, on Wednesday, said the clinic was discovered during ongoing supervisions of private health facilities in the state.

The statement noted that three other clinics, Habeeba Salam Clinic in Garko LGA, Gidan Ruwa Clinic in Wudil LGA, and Ali Alkali Clinic in Takai LGA, were found to be conducting surgeries without the minimum number of professional personnel required ranging from doctors to nurses, which led to the closure of the facilities until proper and adequate recruitment was conducted.

According to the statement, the operators of the illegal clinics would be prosecuted at the conclusion of investigation.

The agency appealed to residents to support the government with information on the activities of illegal private health facilities in their environment to safeguard public health in the state.
