
Private guard to a lawmaker arraigned for alleged possession of dangerous weapons
A 43-year old man, Olawale Fadipe, was, on Tuesday, arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates Court for alleged possession of dangerous weapons.
Fadipe is said to be a private security guard to a lawmaker.
Arraigned on two counts bordering on possession of dangerous weapons and theft, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Thursday, February 14, at about 12:20am at Lameco Filling Station, Osogbo.
Oladoye further explained that the Police caught the defendant with dangerous weapons which include jack knife and electric shock gun.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 430(1) and 509 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11, laws of Osun, 2003.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge leveled against him.
Defense Counsel, Mr. Sikiru Nurudeen, moved bail application for the accused person and promised to ensure that he attends his trial.
The magistrate, Mr. Ola Olagoke , granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 and two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till February 20 for mention.
