EFCC quizzes 29 suspects over alleged illegal oil bunkering
• Secures Conviction Of 17 Illegal Petroleum Dealers
The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office has commenced investigations into the activities of 29 suspected oil thieves involved in illegal oil bunkering. The suspects were handed over to the EFCC on Friday, June 7, 2019 alongside four vessels comprising one Barge and three wooden boats.

Other items handed over to the EFCC include a truck laden with products suspected to be illegally refined and 306 drums laden with products suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil, (AGO).

The Naval Officer, Lt. J. Mohammed said the suspects were arrested between May 3, 2019 and May 6, 2019 at different locations.
Meanwhile, it was harvest of convictions as the EFCC, Benin Zonal office, on Friday, June 7, 2019 secured the conviction of 17 illegal oil bunkerers before Justice Nnamdi O. Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State.
