National Officers Election Appeals Committee (NBA-NOEAC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the official closure of the period for filing petitions challenging the outcome of the just concluded 2026 NBA National Officers Election.
In a notice dated 28 July 2026, the Committee stated that the deadline for the presentation of election petitions expired on 27 July 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the NBA Constitution, 2015 (as amended in 2025) and the approved guidelines governing the Association’s post-election process.
The Committee advised all candidates that no petition would be accepted beyond the stipulated deadline.
According to the notice, the NBA-NOEAC received a total of three petitions within the constitutionally prescribed period.

NOTICE OF CLOSURE/EXPIRATION OF THE TIME ALLOWED FOR THE PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS TO THE NATIONAL OFFICERS ELECTION APPEALS COMMITTEE OF THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association, 2015 (as amended in 2025), as well as the approved guidelines governing the post-election process, we wish to inform all candidates in the just concluded national Officers election of the Nigerian Bar Association that the time allowed for the presentation of petitions before the National Officers Elections Appeal Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, officially closed on the 27th day of July, 2026.
TAKE NOTICE that the National Officers Election Appeals Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, will no longer accept any petitions beyond the aforementioned deadline.
FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that as at the time of the publication of this notice, the National Officers Election Appeals Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, received a total of three (3) petitions.
All petitions received within the prescribed period will be heard and determined within twenty-eight (28) days from the date of the receipt of the Petitions, in keeping with the provisions of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association, 2015 (as amended in 2025), as well as the applicable rules of procedure. Our previous notice on the time frame for the hearing and determination of Petitions, stand corrected.
