The Lagos For Prosperity Group (LPG) has thrown its weight behind Prince Laja Adeoye of the Peoples Democratic Congress (PDP) as its choice for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

The endorsement was made public on Sunday by the group’s spokesperson, Mr. Kazeem Oshodi, who described Adeoye as a candidate capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and bringing transformative leadership to Lagos.

“Ours is a call for a new direction,” Oshodi said. “Prince Laja Adeoye embodies innovative, citizen-focused governance that can move Lagos beyond incremental progress to broad-based prosperity for all residents.”

LPG, he explained, is a coalition of youths, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community advocates committed to inclusive development across the state. Oshodi highlighted Adeoye’s experience as a real estate developer and political strategist with a deep understanding of Lagos’ economic landscape.

According to the spokesperson, Adeoye’s platform prioritises affordable housing, economic diversification, and improved transportation systems. Oshodi pointed to persistent challenges under the current administration, including traffic congestion, housing shortages, rising living costs, and uneven infrastructure delivery, as areas that require urgent attention.

He emphasised that Adeoye’s approach would combine public-private partnerships, innovation, and strategic planning to tackle these issues. “From sustainable housing schemes to expanded rail networks and modernised BRT operations, Adeoye has the expertise to implement practical solutions that benefit every Lagosian,” he said.

The endorsement also highlighted plans for boosting sectors such as technology, tourism, agriculture, and industrial clusters, with the aim of creating jobs and reducing reliance on federal allocations. In addition, education, healthcare, security, and environmental sustainability were cited as key priorities under Adeoye’s envisioned administration.

Oshodi called on Lagos residents, civil society groups, and political actors to support the PDP candidate, describing the endorsement as part of LPG’s broader mission to foster inclusive growth and prosperity across the state.
