The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Jabi District, has granted bail to John Abebe following his arraignment on charges filed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Presiding judge Justice Fashola admitted Abebe to bail after hearing an application from his legal counsel during proceedings held on March 11, 2026.

Abebe appeared before the court alongside Joje Fertility Centre Limited, where he serves in a leadership capacity.

During the proceedings, the defendants were arraigned on a three-count charge and entered pleas of not guilty.

Following the arraignment, Abebe’s counsel, Marvin Omorogbe, applied for bail on behalf of his client and requested that the court grant bail on liberal terms.

The court subsequently granted the request.

As of the time of reporting, Abebe had fulfilled the bail conditions and returned home pending further proceedings.

The charges arose from a petition reportedly submitted to the police by Hassan Turaki, alleging that Abebe disclosed a medical report belonging to Turaki’s wife in correspondence with the doctor’s legal counsel.

Management of Joje Fertility Centre had earlier denied the allegations in a public statement, describing the claims as an attempt to damage Abebe’s professional reputation.

The court adjourned the matter to a later date for the prosecution to open its case.
