A Nigerian legal consulting firm, Neoteric LP, M. A. Mustapha and Co., has backed a youth-focused anti-drug campaign through a corporate social responsibility partnership with the Drug Free Project and the Drug Free Health Substance Abuse Prevention Support Initiative.
Under the arrangement, Neoteric LP was announced as one of the Bronze Corporate Sponsors for the Drug Free Project’s 2026 programme year, marking the firm’s adoption of what organisers described as Nigeria’s largest youth-focused substance abuse advocacy, prevention and recovery support initiative.
According to a statement on Thursday, the sponsorship was expected to support the expansion of the organisation’s school outreach programmes and community-based substance abuse prevention activities across Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abeokuta and other major Nigerian cities, as part of efforts to tackle drug abuse among young people.
Commenting on the partnership, Chief Impact Officer of the Drug Free Project, Dr Ifeoluwayimika Bamidele, said the collaboration reflected the growing role of the private sector in public health and youth development.
“Substance abuse prevention cannot be addressed by government or civil society alone.
“Strategic partnerships such as this enable us to scale our interventions, reach more young people early, and strengthen community-based responses that save lives.
“We commend Neoteric LP for demonstrating leadership and social responsibility through this commitment,” she stated.
The Drug Free Project is a nationally recognised non-profit organisation dedicated to substance abuse prevention, public education, early intervention, and recovery support, with a strong focus on children, adolescents, and young adults.
Its work spans structured school engagements, community mobilisation, advocacy, and stakeholder collaboration aimed at reducing the social and health consequences of drug abuse in Nigeria.
Over a few months, the Drug Free Project has reached thousands of students, families, educators, and community leaders nationwide, contributing to increased awareness, prevention, and access to support services. The organisation expressed appreciation to M. A. Mustapha and the Neoteric LP team for their confidence in its mission and reaffirmed the importance of sustained private-sector support in advancing healthier communities.
