A former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Oyo State, Chief Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo, SAN, has strongly denied allegations linking him to the ongoing legal challenges faced by senior lawyer Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.
In an open letter dated 22 January 2026 and issued in Abuja, Adebayo was responding to a publication authored by Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja, in which he was referenced in connection with what was described as the prosecution of Mike Ozekhome by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Adebayo clarified that he was the former Oyo State Attorney-General referred to in the piece and narrated his prior interactions with Dr. Jaja, whom he said he had never met until after the inauguration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet. According to him, Dr. Jaja initially reached out after reading an interview in which Adebayo praised the appointment of Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, as Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
He explained that Dr. Jaja sought his assistance to facilitate a meeting with the incumbent Attorney-General over claims that he was unjustly removed as Chairman of the Copyright Council. Adebayo said he obliged, but the complaints were later found to be untrue and without merit.
The senior advocate stated that following the intervention, Dr. Jaja expressed appreciation by nominating him as a Fellow of an association known as ALDRAP and initiating a collection of essays in his honour. However, Adebayo said the relationship deteriorated after he declined to fund the publication of the book, insisting that genuine tribute projects should be self-funded and launched publicly.
Adebayo further accused Dr. Jaja of operating what he described as a fraudulent “Blue Silk Rank” award scheme, alleging that it was used to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public and the legal profession. He said he repeatedly warned Dr. Jaja to desist from what he termed intellectual fraud but was ignored, prompting him to embark on public awareness campaigns across social media platforms to expose the scheme.
According to Adebayo, these enlightenment efforts angered Dr. Jaja, who viewed them as a threat to his alleged financial interests. He described the publication linking him to Ozekhome’s travails as malicious and misleading, stressing that Ozekhome’s legal issues stemmed from a United Kingdom court judgment relating to a property dispute, not from any personal vendetta.
The former Attorney-General disclosed that any past disagreements between him and Chief Ozekhome were resolved within days through the intervention of Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, and were based solely on professional principles rather than personal animosity.
“I do not keep malice, neither do I seek the downfall of any colleague,” Adebayo said, adding that he had no role whatsoever in the past or present ordeals of Chief Ozekhome.

In the above piece authored by the Self-styled Founder and the Ingenious purveyor of the roguish “Blue Silk Rank” award, I am the former Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice of Oyo State which that evil genius Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja referred to.
It is true that shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated his cabinet, Dr. Jaja whom I never knew or met prior to that time reached out to me after he read my interview published in some major newspapers relating to my commendation of the appointment of Prince LateefFagbemi, SAN as the Honourable Attorney-General and Minister for Justice as a very fitting and a round peg in a round hole appointment, more so that the very distinguished learned Silk never lobbied or begged for the appointment.
Dr. Jaja told me that he was wrongly removed as the Chairman of the Copyright Council by a former Attorney-General of the Federation, he therefore sought my kind assistance in facilitating a meeting appointment for him with the incumbent Honorable Attorney-General and the Minister of Justice of the Federation and I did just that.
Dr. Jaja’s complaints were looked into and found to be untrue and iunmeritorious.
Dr. Jaja was very appreciative of my assistance and kind intervention in his matter that he later nominated me a Fellow of an Association called ALDRAP. Furthermore, he wrote a Collection of Essays in my honour and even brought the dummies ( Hard Copy and Paper cover ) of the Book to me, but same could not be published because I refused to accede to Dr. Jaja’s request that I should give him funds to do the publication. I told him that if truly the collection of the essays is a book in my honour, he should source for money to publish and realise same during the launch and presentation of the book to the public. That refusal to mobilise funds for him to publish the book was my initial “ sin and undoing “ which Dr. Jaja never forgive till date.
Furthermore, when Dr. Jaja was using the Blue Silk rank award to dupe and extort money from the gullibles and the unsuspecting members of the public, I warned him to desist from that intellectual fraud road path, but all my appeals and advice to him fell on his deaf ears. Dr. Jaja has inordinate, insatiable and rabid lust for money and avarice for wealth. He believes in cutting corners and getting rich quickly by all means.
In order to save the gullible and unsuspecting members of the legal profession and the public from becoming preys and victims to Dr. Jaja’s greedy and fraudulent schemes, I embarked on massive awareness and enlightenment campaigns accross various WhatsApp groups and social media to expose the Sole and Lone Ranger contrivance of Dr. Jaja , but who is merely masquerading and shrouding a non-existing body with no traceable physical address as an “” Institute “ , all with an intent to dupe and defraud people.
The enlightenment and awareness campaign that I embarked upon to save members of the public from falling victims to the antics and ploys of Dr. Jaja to extort and dupe our people through the fake , ingenious and contrived Blue Silk Rank Award thus became my second albatross and nemesis with Dr. Jaja who saw my efforts as a direct attack on his cash cow project and steaming hot pot of soup.
In Dr. Jaja’s extremely pedestrian , petulant and preposterous piece under reference , he attributed to me Chief Mike Ozekhome , SAN’s present travails in Nigeria which , however, emanated from a United Kingdom’s court judgement over a property saga .
Unknown to the malicious and sadistic Dr. Jaja, the foremost Nigerian legal practitioner, Chief Wole Olanipekun, OFR, CFR , SAN, D. Litt, FNIALS etc had long brokered peace between me and Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN and fully reconciled us on the 3rd day after our disagreements broke. It is pertinent for me to state that the issues of discord between me and Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN were not even personal , but purely on matters of convictions and principles between myself and Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.
I do not keep malice and I will never seek the downfall of any of my fellow human being or gloat over another person’s misfortunes.
it is therefore too elementary and even needless for me to educate the semi-illiterate , uninformed , asinine and unintelligent Dr. Jaja that I have no connection whatsoever with the past and or present travails and ordeals of Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.
