Church empowers members with SMEs

The Redeemers’ Men’s Fellowship (Anchor 2024) has rolled out plans to empower its members to start small scale businesses amid the tough economic climate in the country.

The General Secretary of the fellowship, Charles Okeibunor, disclosed this while speaking at the second edition of the fellowship programme held in Lagos recently with the theme ‘Evidence of His Glory’.

He said the fellowship is planning to support businesses such as dry cleaning and transportation by providing the essential items for the people to run them.Speaking at the programme, the convener and Pastor-in-charge of Province 16, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, ‘Biyi Famoyegun, said for believers’ life to be radiant and considered wholesome, four essential pillars namely family, finance, fitness and faith must be firmly rooted and stable.

He said the programme would assist men to play their role in the family and lift many of them out of poverty plaguing the land.

“God gave us the vision a year ago. God inspired us with a vision to gather men together every year for the purpose of sharing in His blessings as a natural group in the body of Christ. Last year, we had an incredible time of visitation during the maiden edition themed: ‘Still standing’ and in line with that promise, we are still standing by God’s grace today, despite all the challenges of our times. This is the second edition. Our four pillars include, family, finance, fitness and faith,” he stated.
