The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed a new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to take charge of Yolde Pate and Sabon Hanya, two neighbouring communities in Yola South Local Government Area.
The command has also reinforced security presence in the communities, which have recently been under siege by criminal elements.
“In cognisance of complaints and concerns raised by residents of Yolde Pate and Sabon Hanya regarding recent incidents of criminal activities within the area, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered the deployment of a new DPO to the area,” the command said.
According to a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command has, through an increased number of personnel, intensified night patrols, raiding of black spots, and surveillance to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents.
“The Command assures residents of Yolde Pate, Sabon Hanya and environs of its commitment to the protection of lives and property,” Nguroje stated.
He encouraged members of the public to continue cooperating with the police by providing timely and credible information to aid security operations.
