The Kano State Government has said it will personally lead the prosecution of those responsible for the brutal killing of a married woman and her six children in the Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano city, an incident that has plunged the state into deep mourning and shock.
The government described the killings as a cruel and heartless act that has profoundly shaken residents and constitutes a grave violation of humanity and the rule of law.
In a statement issued by the Attorney General of the state and Commissioner for Justice, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, the government said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had directed that condolences be extended to the victims’ family and the people of Kano State.
“The government stands with the affected family and assures them that they will not be left alone during this difficult time,” the statement said.
The Kano State Government also commended the state police command for its swift response and investigation, which led to the arrest of the main suspects linked to the crime.
According to the statement, the prompt action by the police demonstrates the commitment of security agencies to fighting crime and restoring public confidence in safety and justice.
The government further stressed that the case will be handled promptly and professionally by the Office of the Attorney General.
It added that a special team of lawyers will be constituted to ensure that justice is fully served and that those found guilty are held accountable under the law.
