I’ll make you scapegoat if you block govt gates – Wike warns FCTA workersMinister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, to exercise caution before commenting on national issues.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Wike stressed that comments should be based on verified facts rather than speculation.

Falana had criticized Wike for declaring a public holiday ahead of the recently concluded Area Council elections and for imposing a curfew in Abuja.

Responding, Wike said, “With all due respect, Femi Falana must not always comment just because he wants to. Comment on matters you understand and have facts about. You cannot react to hearsay without verification.Law Practice Management

“It was Mr. President’s directive to restrict movement based on a security report indicating attempts to bring in hoodlums. Not every issue requires commentary. If you must speak, ensure you know the full details of what happened.”
