THE Nigerian Law School Class of 1997 has formally inaugurated its first-ever Executive Council to oversee and coordinate the affairs of the Alumni Association for the next Four years.
The historic inauguration ceremony took place on the 13th February day 2026 at the High Court of Lagos State, Commercial Division.
The event was attended by distinguished members of the Bench and Bar, including the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Lagos Branch, Uchena Ogunedo Akingbade Esq; Honourable Justice Effiong Effiong of the Akwa Ibom State High Court; Honourable Justice Femi Adeniyi of the Ogun State High Court; While the inauguration was presided over by My Noble Lord Honourable Justice (Dr.) Oriyomi Olukolu of the High Court of Lagos State; while Adeyinka Moyosore Kotoye Esq, SAN, stood in for the Class members of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) amongst other eminent members of the Legal Profession. Several members of the Nigerian Law School Class of 1997 were also present to witness the landmark occasion.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the history of the Nigerian Law School Class of 1997, as it establishes a formal structure for alumni engagement, professional collaboration, mentorship, and welfare initiatives.
The following members were duly sworn in as Executive Council Members of the Nigerian Law School Class of 1997 Alumni Association:
Akparawa High Chief Nelson O. Imoh– President
Nnenna Obyoma Esq- Treasurer
Nkiru Nwabueze Esq–Welfare Officer
Theophilus Orumor Esq – Public Relations Officer
In his remarks asthePioneer President of the Class, the newly inaugurated President Akparawa High Chief Nelson O. Imoh expressed gratitude to members of the class for the confidence reposed in him and the Executive Council to steer the Administrative ship of the class and pledged to foster unity, Class collectivity, an all inclusive administration, promotion of sustaiined professional excellence, and strengthen the bonds among members across the country and in the diaspora.
The NLS’97 Class Executive Council, and the entire members of the Nigerian Law School Class of 1997 reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of the legal profession and contributing meaningfully to national discourse and development through a rubost Class collaboration and alumni engagements.
