In a bid to take its services closer to the grassroots, the Edo State Geographic Information Service has opened two new offices in the state.
In a statement on Tuesday by EDOGIS spokesman, Tunde Eigbiremolen, one of the offices is in Ekpoma (Edo Central) while the other is in Auchi (Edo North).
He said that the EDOGIS is mandated to administer land resources in the state, thereby computerizing land across the state.
He noted that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration has found it necessary to take the services to the grassroots, because of its desire to reduce land crises among its citizens.
He added, “The EDOGIS office in Ekpoma is domiciled at the Esan West Local Government Council secretariat along the Ekpoma-Benin Expressway, while the one in Auchi is at the Estako West Local Government Secretariat building.
“The idea behind opening the offices is to bring our service closer to the people by Governor Okpebholo administration’s people-oriented policy.”
