According to a statement on Friday, Sabastine Anyia, the First Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), addressed the concerns raised by lawyers regarding the stamp and seal issue. He acknowledged the hardship faced by colleagues due to the delays in receiving their stamp and seal.

Anyia assured members that the new NBA leadership, led by President Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe SAN, is fully aware of the situation and is working diligently to resolve the problem.

He emphasized that President Osigwe, known for his thoroughness, has been studying the various agreements entered into by the previous administration and consulting experts in the relevant departments to find a better and more affordable solution for lawyers.

“I can tell you for free that Mr. President is on top of the situation,” Anyia stated. “He is committed to ensuring that the backlog of the stamp and seal is cleared. He is not a man of promises but a man of results. In no distant time, the results will be obvious for all lawyers to see.”

The First Vice President also highlighted the proactive nature of President Osigwe’s leadership, stating that his mission is to put smiles on the faces of Nigerian lawyers. He urged members to give the president a little more time to solve this pressing issue, assuring them that the leadership team is working tirelessly to address their concerns.

Anyia expressed empathy for the lawyers affected by the stamp and seal issue, saying, “We know your pains, we feel your pains, and we are carrying your pains as ours. As a united family, we will not rest until each and every one of us that paid for the stamp and seal in the previous administration gets his or her own set.”

He called for the support and prayers of the NBA members, promising that the issue of lawyers not receiving their stamp and seal on time will not occur under the current administration. Anyia concluded by thanking the members for their patience and reiterating that this regime will be unlike any other, urging them not to lose hope.

The NBA leadership’s commitment to resolving the stamp and seal issue has been met with cautious optimism by the

legal community, as they eagerly await the implementation of the promised solutions.
