Ondo CJ, lawyers, litigants embrace e-filing platform

The Ondo State judiciary has inaugurated an electronic filing system of court processes to ensure quick dispensation of justice and block loopholes in revenue generation in the state.

Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Olusegun Odusola, said the electronic filing of processes would quicken the process of litigation and administration of justice in the state.

Justice Odusola said lawyers, litigants and those who want to swear to affidavits in the state can now do so through electronic means when filing or responding to suits by electronic filing processes instead of queuing at the court registry.

He added that the electronic filing of documents and work-based access to court materials had become commonplace in many developed jurisdictions around the world and said Ondo State will not be an exception.Justice Odusola said the benefits of the electronic filing process cannot be over-emphasized, adding that members of the Bar and Bench are ready to embrace the technology as a training workshop would be put in place.

According to him, with the electronic filing technology, wherever there is internet connectivity, lawyers can now file their cases from anywhere in the world to aid quick dispensation of justice.
