Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Yakubu Maikyau SAN, has led a delegation to commiserate with the family of late Arakurin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON, SAN. The former NBA president passed away on December 27th.
Maikyau praised the legal luminary’s influence and courageous leadership of the lawyers’ body between 2008-2010. He prayed for God’s comfort upon Akeredolu’s family, friends and colleagues in the legal profession.
The NBA president was accompanied by General Secretary Adesina Adegbite, 3rd Vice President Amanda Asagba, Welfare Secretary Chinyere Obasi and other executives. They were received by Akeredolu’s widow, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and other family members who appreciated the visit.
As governor of Ondo State until his death, Akeredolu was renowned for championing the rule of law, efficient justice administration and human rights protection – values he upheld while heading the NBA.The delegation signed a condolence register before departing the Ibadan family home.
