The Chairman of NBA SLP, Chief Ferdinand Orbih KSG, SAN, during a courtesy call on the Chief Judge of FCT Abuja, Hon. Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, solicited that my Lord the CJ cause courts within the FCT not to sit during the duration of the NBA SLP, Conference. He also informed the CJ that my Lord, is the Chief Host.

Responding, the CJ accepted to host a welcome Cocktail for SLP Conferees.

Also, Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, the Chief Justice, FCT lamented the lack of professionalism among new wigs and encouraged the NBA to assist the younger ones to prevent wrongdoing among members of the Bar and continue to re-educate its members.

He said the Bench has s role to make sure that the court meets the demands of the general public. He said he operates an open door policy to make sure he interacts with lawyers with view to hear from the Bar in areas the Bench need to improve, so as to provide quality Justice to all, the litigants and the state.

He called on the Chairman of the planning committee, to liaise with him on how to make his promise to SLP a reality and further make the Conference a success.

The CJ of FCT ruled and ordered that, that there won’t be Court sitting in the FCT from July 17-18. All Judges of the FCT are invited to attend the Conference. My Lord additionally decreed that he shall participate fully in the opening ceremony.
