Friday 9th of June 2023 is another day of celebration for a quintessential personality, lover of youth, philanthropist, teacher, mentor, chartered arbitrator, Dr Akin Onigbinde (SAN), the Principal Partner of AOC Solicitors, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The life that God has given him and the many blessings he has brought to the lives of those he has encountered in his journey of life are worthy of celebration. It is certain that his remaining years will be filled with joy and happiness.
Dr Akin Onigbinde is a person who believes that only hard work can get one to achieve his set goals. Apart from that, he is a man of high integrity and of great significance. He is very passionate, very supportive, full of inspiration, dedicated, well focused and a bundle of humility. He does not act a big man in any gathering. He moves around like any other man.
It is only those that are privileged to know him or his worth that reverence him or show him deep respect whenever they see him in the society. He does not ask for any special recognition or accolade. Even as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he does not chase juniors away. His slogan is that the young shall grow and get to his desired top if he works very hard and pray.
He mixes freely with everybody, even with those who may even be younger than his children. One will doubt at first instance if this man with such a modest lifestyle is really who truly he is. But he is actually a great, very amiable and greatly dependable. He is well read, well-travelled and endowed with a very rich credentials.
Dr Akin Onigbinde is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, member of the International Chambers of Commerce, member of the International Bar Association, member of the Nigerian Political Science Association, member of the Negotiating & Conflict Management Group, former Legal Adviser/Company Secretary of Wema Bank and former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, to mention just a few.
Dr Akin Onigbinde is a shining star whose light and influence have gone beyond his catchment. He has lived a very impactful life. This is unlike men in history who only lived for their time and have since been forgotten. He has printed his feet on the sand of time and generations yet unborn will remember him for good. The lesson from his life is that we all must strive to live a meaningful life because a life of no impact is a life of no value. Words cannot be enough to express how happy the legal community is, on this 9th day of June, 2023, about this widely admired personality with great influence and significance.
