Kano gov orders illegal buildings demolition

In fulfilment of his campaign promise, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Saturday commenced the demolition of buildings erected on public lands, which he considered illegal.

Already, a three-storey building, comprising 90 shops, within the Race Course vicinity by Filing Sukuwa, Nasarawa GRA, was brought down about 2am, according to our sources.

Governor Yusuf, who was accompanied by the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, described the demolished building as illegal.

Recall that Yusuf, shortly after his declaration as the governor-elect of the state, threatened to demolish buildings in the state erected on public property.

Meanwhile, residents who erected structures on government land are currently jittery over the current demolition of illegally erected buildings by the state government.
