The Lagos State Police Command on Friday arraigned a 27-year-old man, Samuel Manga, for alleged theft of a phone and money.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the defendant is standing trial on two counts of conspiracy and stealing before an Ogudu Magistrate’s Court.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 25 around 7.15pm at the Bus Rapid Transit Bus Stop, Ketu, Lagos.

He also alleged that the defendant, and one other, who is still at large, stole an Infinix Hot 10 handset worth N60,000.
“The complainant told the police that the defendant and one other threatened to stab him with a broken bottle, and forcefully collected his phone and cash of N3,000.
“They took the phone and money and ran to Jakande Park, but with the help of some boys, the defendant was caught while his accomplice escaped,” Bassey noted.
According to the prosecutor, the phone belongs to one Mr Olusegun Shofowoke.
Adeniyi said the offence contravened sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Daodu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum.
She, however, adjourned the case until March 20 for hearing.
