The Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has lost his Local Government Area, Giade, to the Peoples Democratic Party in the Presidential election held on Saturday.
Abubakar, the immediate past Chief of Air Staff and former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Chad Republic, failed to deliver his LGA to the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, as that of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, was declared the winner.
The results of the election announced by the electoral officer, Giade LGA, Babangida Yerima, at the Presidential Election Collation Centre, Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters, Bauchi, indicated that Atiku won with a margin of 1,595 votes.
According to him, Giade LGA has total registered voters of 73,002 while those who were accredited to vote are 28,137.
He said that Atiku of the PDP got 11,977 votes to beat Tinubu of the APC who got 10,382 votes.
The New Nigeria People’s Party came third with 4,002 votes while the Labour party came fourth with 17 votes.
Yerima said that the total votes cast were 27,468, adding that the valid votes were 26,579 while the rejected votes were 889.
