Commends Gambia Bar for hosting Nigeria’s delegation to the GIABA Forum on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing
The NBA President, Y.C. Maikyau, welcomed the solidarity between the NBA and the Gambian Bar Association following a courtesy call on his office by the Director General of the Gambian Law School, Mrs. Rougie Thomasi.
The visiting DG had paid a visit on Maikyau on Thursday, after the Call to Bar ceremony; in the company of Prof. Isah Hayatuo Chiroma, and U.O. Sule, SAN, DG of the Nigerian Law School and Legal Adviser of the NBA respectively.
In his remark, the NBA President promised to provide robust areas of cooperation with other African Bar to encourage growth in legal practice.
Mrs. Thomasi in the course of her visit was shown round the NBA Secretariat and she also attended the 10th anniversary of the Bwari Branch of the NBA which held at the NBA Secretariat.
The NBA presider also commended the Gambian Bar for the support shown the NBA by hosting ‘the Nigerian delegation of the 1st Vice President, Mrs. Linda Bala and the Publicity Secretary, Akorede Lawal who visited Gambia for the 2ND GIABA Regional Consultative Forum on AML/CFT compliance for Bar Associations of English-speaking ECOWAS Member States from 16-17 November, 2022’.
